Joy or Numb?
We’ve talked a lot over the last few weeks about where hurts go. Hurts are emotional needs not met or taken from you. Once we are hurt, it turns to anger, fear, guilt and self-condemnation. Our emotions aren’t just negative…hopefully. There should be some joy in life. However, sometimes we just feel numb. We look at life and the good things that happen and just feel, “That should make me happy…but I’m not.” Does that happen to you?
Last week we talked a lot about where we are in life (as we always do). Eric and Jay really identified with self-condemnation while Brian didn’t at all. That’s how this works though. Brian tends to have a bit more anger than the Jay or Eric. We don’t all experience all of the affects of hurts in the same amounts but we are all hurt and it goes somewhere.
One of the exciting things that we discussed last week was a very new (albeit brief) segment entitled, “Can’t Do Better.” While we discuss how people can #DoBetter each week, and many many people have joined in on this, we wanted to highlight someone or something that just couldn’t do any better. I hope we have something to share each week that not only brings attention to good things but makes us laugh as well.
Not only do we have a great podcast for you later this week but we will have soon have more ways to have you be a part of the show. We look forward to having you join us at the table.
